How to Keep Your Training Schedule Consistent
The most common reason people stop training is not injury or boredom — it is a broken schedule. Consistency can be designed.
Four Rules That Work
- Fix the same days and times. A moving schedule forces a daily decision, and that decision usually loses.
- Pack your gear the night before. A ready bag removes the small friction that delays leaving.
- Choose a realistic slot. Two sessions you always attend beat four you half-attend.
- Lower the target when busy. If the week is packed, still come for a short session. Keeping the habit matters more than keeping the duration.
Handling Three Common Obstacles
“I am too tired after work.”
Move to a morning or weekend session, or join a lighter fitness class. Light training often leaves you feeling more energised, not less.
“My child has too much homework.”
Shift one session to the weekend and keep one on a weekday so the routine survives.
“I have a minor injury.”
Come and train around it, then consult the coach. Full stops usually take longer to return from than adjusted training.
Making Progress Visible
- Track your own attendance for 90 days — patterns emerge fast.
- Re-test a baseline every four weeks, such as kicks per minute.
- Enter one community event, like an internal test or championship, to create a target.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is training every day better?
Not for beginners. Adaptation happens during rest. Two to four sessions a week is excellent.
What if I travel often?
Ask for a short 10–15 minute programme you can do in a hotel room so the habit never breaks.
