Physical Preparation for Your First Fight
Your fight date is set. Now what does training look like? This is the framework we use to prepare MAJESTY BALI athletes for their amateur debut.
Block 1 (Weeks 1–4): Aerobic Foundation
Build the “engine” with moderate volume: light technical work, roadwork, and HIIT circuits. Goal: survive 3 rounds without gassing.
Block 2 (Weeks 5–6): Fight-Specific Work
- Controlled sparring at real competition tempo.
- Situational rounds: starting from bad positions, working from the clinch, recovering after being hit.
- Short high-intensity conditioning — mimicking the last 30 seconds of each round.
Block 3 (Week 7): Sharpening
Volume drops, quality rises. Sharp pad work, opponent strategy (if data exists), and lots of recovery. Do not learn new techniques in this phase.
Fight Week: Peak & Weight
- Light, technical sessions — nothing “heroic”.
- Gradual weight management — no drastic water cuts for amateurs.
- 8 hours of sleep, full hydration, and fight visualization.
Mindset: Rehearse Everything
For athletes in our MMA program, situational sessions and full fight-day rehearsals (weigh-in, hangout time, arena calls) make fight night feel familiar.
