Taekwondo or Kickboxing for Kids? A Calm Way to Choose
Two classes parents consider most often are Taekwondo and Kickboxing. Both are excellent, but they train different emphases. Understanding the difference helps you choose without regret.

Choosing by Temperament
- Children who need visible milestones thrive on the belt pathway — each level feels like a reward.
- Children who get bored easily often prefer kickboxing’s wider variety per session.
- Shy children need small ratios and a supportive culture — available in both.
The Worry That Rarely Comes True
“Will my child become aggressive?” Almost never, when taught properly. Martial arts teach control of force, respect for partners and restraint — the class rules exist for exactly that.
Trying Both
Some families try Taekwondo first, then Kickboxing, or the other way around. MAJESTY BALI runs both, so a switch needs no change of venue:
- Taekwondo — kicks, poomsae and the belt path.
- Kickboxing — punches, kicks and fighter conditioning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child take both?
Yes, if schedules do not clash and the child still enjoys it. For children under ten we suggest one discipline first.
Which builds confidence faster?
Either — as long as the child feels welcome and effort is recognised.
