Understanding Assaut and Combat Categories

M MAJESTY BALI · 8 September 2026

Every time MAJESTY BALI opens championship registration, the admin’s first question is always the same: “What is Assaut? How is it different from Combat?” Here is the simple explanation.

Assaut — Controlled Contact

Assaut is a format with light, controlled contact: techniques are scored on precision, speed, and clean execution — not on knockout power. Full protection gear is usually required (headgear, body protector in certain classes).

  • Best for: first-time competitors, young athletes, and building arena experience.
  • Injury risk: low — the focus is skill and tactics.

Combat — Regulated Full Contact

Combat allows full contact per the technical handbook (THB) regulations. Points come from effective strikes, and matches can end by judges’ decision or official stoppage.

  • Best for: experienced athletes with adequate sparring preparation.
  • Requirements: health check, coach approval, and regulation-compliant protection.

Which Should You Pick?

Our rule of thumb: your first 2 championships go through Assaut. Move up to Combat only after your coach judges your technique, conditioning, and mindset ready. This is the pathway we apply in Road to Glory development.

How to Register

  1. Pick your category and age/weight class per the championship technical handbook.
  2. Fill in the athlete registration form (on each event page).
  3. Confirm via WhatsApp admin — the team verifies data and payment.
